Your Lead Guide
Photographer · Field Mentor · Expedition Leader
Steve Chong has spent close to thirty years behind the camera. He began photographing in the late 1990s and has been leading photography tours and workshops since the 2000s, with journeys spanning the globe and a particular depth of return to China, Southeast Asia, and Asia's culturally rich landscapes.
An Associate of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, Steve is the author of "The Light & Mist of Yuan Yang" — a long-term photographic work created through repeated visits to Yunnan's Hani terraced landscapes.
Steve's field guidance moves past technical instruction. He teaches photographers to see through light, shadow, timing, composition, and the quiet cultural context of a place — guidance built for those who value experience, patience, and direct mentorship over a quick checklist of shots.
Author of "The Light & Mist of Yuan Yang" — a long-term photographic work from 15+ visits to Yunnan's Hani terraced landscapes. Gifted personally to every expedition participant.
